Tooth discolouration does not pose a problem just esthetically, but is also indicative of an underlying, more serious cause. Discolouration could be external or internal, and can be caused due to:
- Trauma
- Drugs taken during formative stages eg. tetracycline
- Surface stains due to tobacco products
- Fluoridosis due to high fluoride content in water.
